Keibeb Game Ranch is a wildlife ranch in the Northeast of Namibia covering about 8,000 acres and consist of mostly plains game species. Family-owned and operated for 30 years, with the last 27 years dedicated to wildlife management and hunting. Steph Marais, a true Namibian by hart, and six generation African, established Keibeb Safaris in 2006, after finishing high school in South Africa, moved back to Namibia and became a professional hunter. Steph’s hunting career started when he was only 4 years old, taking a Steenbok, with the help and guidance of his father, Stephen Marais, the current owner of Keibeb Game Ranch. That was when he realized that hunting will be a part of his life forever, at the age of 6, Steph had already decided that he wants to become a professional hunter, after hearing all the hunting stories from his grandfather and father.
When talking to his father, Stephen Marais, he will tell you that when Steph was about 6 years old, helping him repairing old cattle fences on a newly acquired cattle ranch, Steph wanted to know why they had to put up fences, when his father responded the fences are necessary for running cattle on the ranch, whereto Steph responded that he does not want to be a cattle rancher, he want's to be a professional hunter.
Lara Marais joined our Keibeb Safaris team in 2018, after she married Steph and moved to the ranch permanently. Lara is in charge of the camp and will go out of her way to make sure you have everything you need on a safari and serve you the best dishes possible, using only wild game meat hunted by clients and processed by them on the ranch.
